Town in shock after beauty shop owner is found dead
SHOCKED friends and family of a Wear Valley beauty therapist who died this week have left flowers and tributes outside her Crook salon.Joanne Little, 25, owned Supreme Beauty on Hope Street where her body was found at about 7.30pm on Monday.
One friend, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “The whole community is in absolute shock. It’s sad really, she was always bubbly, always happy and smiling and we’ll miss her terribly. Although I worked with her, she quickly became my friend and I don’t think anyone can quite believe she’s gone.”
Joanne opened Supreme Beauty two years ago, and had recently married Adam Little, who discovered her body on Monday night.
Joanne’s friend said: “I’ve heard Adam is in a bit of a state which is understandable. I don’t think he’s been home yet, and I know his friends are looking after him and his father is taking care of everything.”
Flowers have been left outside the shop, along with messages of condolence. One card described Joanne as a “lovely person”, while another said: “We hope you have found inner peace and happiness”, adding “always remember, never forget”.
Joanne was a campaigner for the Eve charity which aims to fight ovarian cancers. A police spokesman said: “We were called to the property on Hope Street at about 7.30pm on Monday by a member of the family. There were no suspicious circumstances.”
