Children to benefit from dramatic new stage activities for five to 13-year-olds
AFTER school drama activities for five to 13 year olds will be starting this month (May) at St Catherine’s Community Centre in Crook.Professional arts workers from Jack Drum Arts will run the sessions, along with a senior member of the Jackass Youth Theatre.
Julie Ward, co-founder of Jack Drum Arts said, “the activities will include role-play, imaginative games, comedy and slap-stick – just like in the circus and the movies.”
The sessions will eventually lead to an afternoon performance to coincide with the unveiling of the Stan Laurel statue in Bishop Auckland in early July. Jack Drum Arts will be running two separate classes. The Monday Club for children aged five to 11 starting on May 12. There will also be the Thursday Club for children aged 8 to 13.
