IT specialist exhibition celebrates its 15 years
AN EXPANDING IT business celebrated its 15 year anniversary with a showcase of the latest technology to businesses.Comtek System Solutions marked the milestone by hosting an open day with guests invited to try out cutting edge business solution technology ranging from interactive whiteboards to document management software.
Richard Cooke has developed Comtek over the past 15 years from humble beginnings in his bedroom at his parents’ home.
The firm now occupies a 900 sq ft office at South Church Enterprise Park, Bishop Auckland. He said: “I’m pleased that we have been able to expand to a base in Bishop Auckland and to be close to a growing business community.
“We wanted to celebrate our anniversary and the expansion by showing local businesses exactly what we do and explain how our products and services can help them. “Most business recognise that technology is out there to assist with their business needs but it is often difficult to identify the solution that best suits them.
“Demonstrating our product range gave a first hand understanding of the solutions that we are able to provide and the benefits that these technologies bring to businesses by increasing productivity and reducing costs.”
Comtek is a Cisco Select Certified Partner, Microsoft Certified Partner and Microsoft Small Business Specialist and has the expertise to provide a well-rounded portfolio of business solutions, many of which were exhibited at the open day.
Among the technologies on show was a state-of-the-art Unified Communication Solutions which included VOIP technology allowing voice calls, video conferencing and document collaboration to be securely transmitted over the Internet.
As a Cisco Select Certified Partner, Comtek provided visitors the opportunity to experience the Cisco Network On Wheels (NOW) bus – a bus filled with the latest range of Cisco’s products including real world applications and benefits specifically designed for small to medium sized businesses.
Comtek’s expansion to Bishop Auckland has coincided with a recruitment drive which will see the company expand its Marketing and Technical Support Teams.
Richard added: “Technology is moving so quickly it is sometimes difficult for businesses to keep pace. Our job is to help businesses to identify solutions to their issues and to introduce and implement the technology that is right for them.”
