Generation games for young and old
PEASES West Primary school visited Langholm residential nursing home, in Bishop Auckland, on Friday to share a little Easter cheer.Residents and children spent the morning decorating Easter eggs and getting to know each other.
The trip was arranged by Diane Wilson, who works at the home as activities organiser.
Headteacher Judith Stirk said: ³The residents were delighted to meet the children and everybody enjoyed decorating the eggs which were then displayed in the lounge.
³This is the perfect way to promote understanding between generations and allows the children to interact with senior citizens in a really positive way.
³It helps them to understand the world from a different perspective.² The visit brought back memories for one resident who was a former teacher.
She particularly enjoyed organising her young helper and making sure she was on task!²
