Fun pays as children and families raise hundreds

CHILDREN, staff and their supporters at Peases West Primary have raised
£622.55 in the past month for two charity appeals.
An appeal for NCH, the children¹s charity was launched in a morning assembly back in February and children were challenged to complete various sponsored activities according to their age. This resulted in £378.38 being raised.
With the spirit of charity flowing, the children then decided on a non-uniform day and fun Œ¹red² activities to raise money for Comic Relief.
Headteacher Judith Stirk, said: ³Considering there are only 134 children in nursery and school altogether, this is a super achievement.² Enterprising youngsters, Kennedy Grainger and Jessica Bradley arrived with £18.50 they had collected from family and friends, by dressing in pyjamas and shower caps.
Year 5 pupil, Tyler Parker and Year 6 , Sam Milton, dressed in bridesmaids¹ dresses complete with wigs and make-up and toured the school requesting adults, staff and visitors, to empty their pockets.
This netted them £26.87.
They decided to continue at home and joined by Tyler¹s younger sister, Sommer they raised a further £10.45.
Another Year 6 boy, Ryan Gibson, did a spot of sponsored karaoke at his grandparents¹ pub on Friday evening and raised £27.53.
A Paw Island game organised by two of the staff raised an additional £20, the winner receiving a donated Red Nose Andrex puppy!
Several donations added into the equation gave a final total of £244.17.
