Thousands of reasons to say thanks

A FAMILY who's son made medical history are thanking the community for raising more than £7,000 for charity.
Alison and Richard Sewell, of Crook, are remembering the day doctors told them their little boy had a rare form of cancer.
Two years have passed since Daniel was admitted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle.
The youngster who made medical history underwent nine bouts of chemotherapy over seven months and had three quarters of his tongue removed and rebuilt.
As the couple spent every minute of the day by their boy¹s bedside the Rainbow Trust provided light at the end of the tunnel.
In a bid to pay back the trust and the other charities who helped out Mrs Sewell, family and friends have been rigorously raising money.
Mrs Sewell, said: "Richard and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us including daniels medical team, support workers, friends and especially our families. Our other childen Anthony, Micheal, Rachael and Thomas have been a credit to us and we are very proud of them.
During the last two years family and friends have helped us raise a lot of money for Ward 16 childrens cancer care unit at the RVI, Crawford House Sick Childrens Trust, and the Rainbow Trust.
"We have raised in the region of £7,000 thanks to the public. Families need support during hard times of coping with an ill child. On behalf of the Rainbow Trust and our family a very big thank you to everyone who has supported us.
The Rainbow Trust is a vital service even if you need a shoulder to cry on.² The family donated £3,500 of their total to the Rainbow Trust who hope to be back in the Durham area to help families.
Fundraising events have included family fun days with magician Alan Ward and his dog Roger, karoke and disco nights, and raffles. The family would also like to thank Crook Cricket Club, The Crown, Nisa local, Dawn Rutters papershop, Stephenson¹s News and Crackerjacks which are all in Crook.
Cocktonhill Working Men's Club, Bondgate House, Bondgate Newsagents, Baby on Board and Line Dancers at RAFA club all of Bishop Auckland.
