Double award joy for dale business
WEAR Valley entrepreneur, Rebecca Philipson is up for two top-flight awards for her pioneering and imaginative business.Rebecca, 23 year old Director of UR-In The Paper Ltd, is in the running for the Internet Business 2007 award as well as the most Innovative Business of 2007.
Rebecca said: "It would be excellent to win I¹d love to, especially the Internet award as I¹ve never won one of those before!
"I found out about a week ago and the judges came out to visit me and ask me questions.
"It was like being back in the Dragon¹s Den, though they were all really nice." UR-In The Paper Ltd, based in Stanhope in Weardale, creates authentic tabloid size personalised newspapers featuring a made to measure headline, story and photograph. The unique papers have proved a smash hit as birthday presents and to mark other special occasions.
Rebecca gave up her university degree in order to start the business two years ago and, since then, the company has gone from strength to strength.
As well as an appearance on BBC Dragons Den, Ms Philipson has won a number of awards and recently appeared in the papers after she was presented with a prize celebrating her enterprising attitude by Chancellor Gordon Brown.
The awards presentation will be held at Ramside Hall on Saturday April 5 and if Ms Philipson wins, she will be in with a chance for a national prize.
