About Us

The Wear Valley Mercury is the local newspaper for the Wear Valley district of County Durham. It was established in September 2006.

The independently-owned title is based in Hope Street, Crook. It serves Crook, Willington, Tow Law, West Auckland, Weardale and the surrounding areas.

The Mercury is published every Friday, priced 32p. It is the sister paper of the historic Teesdale Mercury.
